Time for Clarity: Aligning Red Hat, Vendors, and Customers with PTP Testable Requirements
2026-09-24 –, Hewitt Boardroom (Capacity 35)

Precision Time Protocol (PTP) is critical for modern infrastructure, but aligning developers, quality engineers, customers, and hardware vendors on specific use-case requirements is notoriously difficult. To bridge this communication gap, our team created the PTP Testable Requirements Repository—an open-source hub designed to serve as a single source of truth for PTP integration.
In this 5-minute lightning talk, I will introduce this new spec-driven repository (github.com/ptp-spec-driven/clock-requirements). I will briefly explain how we use it to publish clear, testable requirements for various PTP use-cases, ensuring that Red Hat Dev, QE, external customers, and hardware suppliers are perfectly aligned. You will learn how this open-source approach eliminates ambiguity, communicates exactly what use-cases we care about, and defines precisely how they will be tested. Join me to see how spec-driven testing can streamline your next hardware or software integration!
