Mohamed Elsakhawy received his B.Sc. from Alexandria University, Egypt and his M.E.Sc. in Ph.D. in Computer Science from Western University, Canada. He served as the Operational Lead of Compute Canada’s Cloud National Team between 2017 and 2021.
He served as the Vice-Chair/Chair of the OpenStack user committee between 2019 and 2020. Between 2022 and 2023, he was an Adjunct Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering department at the University of British Columbia, Canada.

AI has been fastly integrating into all aspects of the IT industry in the past two years. The reliability and accuracy of AI agents has forced the companies to adpot AI for tasks ranging from writing code, code analysis, vulnerability assemsments and much more. This adoption has spanned from limited advisory role to humans performing the task to a fully-fledged human-replacement approach.
This session presents the current "state-of-the-union" of AI agent adoption the cloud realm. It provides real examples on where the adoption has already and is forseen to take place and the associated risks. The session then deep-dives into the technology stacks that allow this adoption to happen covering AI agents, LLM serving and LLM training frameworks in both the commercial and open-source realms.
The session ends with a real-life example of deploying an Agentic Cloud Engineer that takes on tasks, executes them and reports the results.
