DESCRIPTION:As we enter a post-LLM world\, we face a critical trade-off: th
e immediate Efficiency of AI versus the long-term cultivation of human Exp
ertise. While LLMs can execute hours of human labor in minutes\, the "expe
rtise" an AI builds is fleeting\, as it persists only as long as its conte
xt window. In contrast\, human labor produces a trove of expertise: insigh
ts\, foresight\, and contextual understanding that span a career. When we
offload cognition to AI\, we risk losing the very ingenuity required to in
novate beyond the training data.\nWhile LLMs are a powerful tool\, their u
se carries risks and trade-offs that must be managed. In this talk\, we id
entify three key elements for balancing this trade-off:\n* Intention: Choo
sing when and how to use AI by understanding the cost of personal expertis
 e loss.\n* Innovation: Combating LLM-induced stagnation caused by a data-d
riven regression to the mean.\n* Integrity: Maintaining honesty and trust
when claiming ownership of AI-generated work.\n\nDrawing on academic resea
rch and real-world industry examples we highlight that while LLMs can mimi
c the results of expertise\, they struggle to replicate the meta-cognition
and abstraction required to solve the problems of tomorrow without expert
  help.
