OpenSource changed the world. Over the last 30 years, how we approach technology has completely turned around to a point where its hard today to imagine the closed inner loops of the past. But it was not easy, and it was not by default - it took a lot of effort to bring this change, and while we see Open Source everywhere, its not the accepted execution default.
And we wont get over the next set of challenges without a determined effort from the communities, the vendors and the commercials. In this talk I would like to take a few minutes to talk about what these challenges are, and how we can start approaching them. Having been involved in the open source ecosystem for over 30 years now, I will aim to bring both a historical aspect as well as a forward looking expectations view.
And lets be clear - OpenSource changed the world, but today people are keen to change the OpenSource world, so they can go back to asserted proxy control. We must not let that happen!
